State-of-the-art technology and surgical techniques to get you moving again.

Computer Assisted Orthopaedic Surgery (CAOS) is a significant advancement in total joint replacement, and the future of orthopaedic surgery. Dr. Goding is the first surgeon in Hawaii to have received fellowship training in this technique, and we are proud to offer this service right here on Kauai. CAOS uses technology similar to GPS navigation to align components during surgery. Movie »

The advantages of CAOS include:

  • No metal rods in the bone canal during surgery, which reduces potential problems
  • More accurate alignment of the components, leading to a potentially longer lifespan
  • The ability to check the cuts prior to implanting the components, reducing potential error.
  • Tendons and ligaments are balanced after the components are implanted resulting in better function.
